Sapa Temen Bakal Tinemu, is the sentence that is instilled by my father to me. The sentence means that whoever is diligent
and serious in doing something, then he will get what he aspires. To reach my
goals, I will be serious in learning, practicing, always praying, and asking for easiness from God.
I was born in Ketanggan Village, Gembong District, Pati Regency. My father is a cassava farmer with a small
plot of land. While my mother works as a teacher in a public elementary
school in Ketanggan Village. I am the second child of three siblings. Currently, I am taking
my final semester at Universitas Negeri Semarang, majoring in Curriculum
and Educational Technology. I am working on a thesis with the theme "The Effect of
Learning Problem Based Learning Models with Cooperative Learning Methods to
Improve 21st Century Competencies". My elder sister was married, while my younger sister is studying in college in Yogyakarta. Our family is simple,
but thank God our parents attach great importance to education for all their
children. But over time, the family's financial condition can be said to be not
good. These limitations do not make me discouraged to always explore knowledge
even though it feels heavy but I am sure that with sincerity of intention, I
will get the best results.
Since I
was a child I had a passion for drawing and making crafts. After graduating
from high school in State Vocational High School 2 Pati I learned manual screen
printing with the "Kesut" technique, although before that I was not
familiar with the equipment, techniques, and how to make designs in screen
printing. I learned to be independent by reading tutorials on the internet and
watching video tutorials on YouTube, with a limited fund from my savings and my parents, I bought basic screen
printing equipment such as screens, shelves, afdurk drugs, and screen printing
paint. I began to study graphic design using my mother's laptop that was used
to do school work, from there I began to be familiar with the graphic design
tools - Corel Draw. The first time I learned was how to create a digital design
by redrawing the design that I drew manually to make a negative image that
would later be printed on the screen with the afdurk process.
Trying many times even though then failing to be a normal thing in my
learning process, every failure I make an evaluation so that I can produce
better results than before. When I was good at screen printing, I made and sold
products that I made such as T-shirts, tote bags, and organizational flags. I
shamelessly took some of my products to school and offered them to teachers and
friends.
I chose the Education Curriculum and Technology because there were courses
in photography, cinematography, graphic media development, and website-based
learning which supported my talents and interests in graphic arts. When I
graduated from high school and studied screen printing, I felt that the skill
was important for me to master. However, in reality, not as I thought, there
were not only studying these competencies in-depth but educational and
pedagogical theories which were even more complex to study. My favorite for graphic design makes me happy to always practice and improve my
skills. During my college days, I also filled with organizational activities to
train my soft skills. The organizations that I participated in is the Student Association for the Curriculum and Technology Education and
Scout Movement. At the moment I am still active in the Scout Movement. In addition to the Scout Movement on campus, I am also the administrator of
the Earth Youth Organization Unit, a forum for developing interests and talents
in agriculture under the auspices of the Semarang City Branch Office and the
Semarang City Agriculture Office. This is one of my vector-design product.
I hope in this final semester, I can continue to develop myself so that I
have strong competence in the field of design, specifically I want to learn UI
/ UX design. I continue to learn self-taught through reading material and
through YouTube as literacy material. According to an article published by
Kompas, the User Interface / User Experience Designer will be a profession that
has good opportunities, because, in this century, technology has an important role in human life, especially in supporting
the economy, almost all jobs will be affected by technology. I want to be a
designer who is not only competent in designing but also competent in reading
market needs and opportunities so that the designs that I make can be accepted by the market.
I have
aspirations to become an established person immediately after graduating from
college. My goals will encourage me to be active and
enthusiastic in trying and learning new things that I can apply to achieve my
goals, so that I can make people around me happy, especially my parents.
